about

“Kaayena Vaacaa Manasendriyairvaa
Buddhy-Aatmanaa Vaa Prakrlteh Svabhaayaat
Karomi Yad-Yat-Shakalam Parasmai
Naaraayannayeti Samarpayaami

Whatever I do with my body, soul, mind and senses
Either by discrimination of intellect, or deeper feeling of heart
Whatever work is done, I surrender without ownership
All at the feet of Lord Sri Narayan,”

Deep focus with Zero Gravity Tea Ceremony.

Refrains repeated in time with body and breath overlap with differing bodily rhythms, converging in the way that bodies and breath tend to in group meditation. Strings, electronics, piano and percussion overlap and merge through minimal instrumentation; allowing space for reverberations and tones to merge on their own terms. Sounds and textures at once loose and focused draw together organically, creating a sense of bodily space, as the breath of players unfolds through their instruments.

Drawing on yogic and meditative practices, Daranha Darshan consists of five movements, and four interpretations of those movements. Daranha translates as 'focus on a fixed point’ with Darshan translated as ‘showing’ or ‘revealing’ and the method and delivery converge on these four tracks to embody those concepts - simple compositional directions held and focused on to reveal a wealth of texture and depth.
