about

Long-running North East improv specialists, Snakes Don’t Belong in Alaska and Lovely Wife have joined forces to commit the live energy for which both acts are renowned to record. The result is thirty- something minutes of heavy psychedelia meets raucous noise rock, via doom, sludge, punk and everything in between.

Coalescing from a morass of squeals and opened cans, Lovely Wife build into a joyous lumbering bass assault punctuated by effects-laden vocals and guitar work. Snakes Don’t Belong in Alaska keep to their usual modus operandi of off the cuff improvisational space worship and let the lack of gravity guide their hand into whatever infinite space holds. Both acts have retained the raw immediacy of their output with each track created live in the moment and sprawling outward from its inception.

Together both bands yield a blissed-out mess of sonic confusion that represents all the exhilarating vitality of noise making, with tongue placed firmly within cheek.
