about

“Do not go gentle into that good night”

Echo the processed and reverberating lines from Dylan Thomas famous poem over slowly building electronics – continuing his reading before being engulfed by electronic respiration and slowly bludgeoning thud. What follows are five tracks of cold syntheses and effected samples centred around the ever-present thud of that mechanical, kick drum. Angular oscillators rumble through claustrophobic sound collage like some automated oppressor trawling through our increasingly mechanised and automated human existence.

Heat Death Of The Sun is the project of Newcastle based Eugene Davies, also of Winter Isle (Guitar, violin, and synth). Utilising a mixture of effected sample, ephemera, syntheses, and relentless kick, Davies evokes a cold, bleak take on contemporary existence that sits somewhere between industrial and contemporary electronic music.

Erosion of Culture is the body of work spanning a two-year writing and recording session. It was first performed in 2016 to positive feedback and was slowly wrought being into the entity it exists as now.
